"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
-Nelson Mandela
I am an Outdoor and Environmental educator and enthusiast living in the Pacific Northwest. I'm currently working on a M.Ed at the University of Washington and teaching at IslandWood, a residential environmental education center for 5-6th graders.
I'm passionate about exploring experiential learning philosophy in-the-field to create meaningful learning experiences for students. I believe that the best learning occurs when students are cultivating a sense of wonder and excitement and I have found that those moments are most prevalent when students are outside experiencing the natural world and learning about their place in that world.
I'm an avid backpacker, paddler and climber. I love a hot cup of tea or coffee, biking to work, and baking bread.
